Swimming Pool Fence Installation and the Covid-19 Virus

covid-19 hurts pool fence installation

Life Saver Of Houston sells and installs a mesh pool fence. In fact, the best one on the market. However, many of the components of our fence our fence are made and shipped from China. Now, I’m like any other American, and I would like to say that we sell and install a fence that is 100% American, but that would not be true. Nor is it true for any other pool fence, nor for the automobiles that you drive, and neither for the wash machines you have at home. The raw materials for the swimming pool fence that we sell and install were likely mined here in the U.S…. and, I can be happy to say that.

The coronavirus flu epidemic has had a huge impact on the pool fence installation industry. The United States is a large exporter in shipping raw materials in the steel industry, but China manufactures those raw materials into finished products. Not only for the automotive industry, but also for the pool fence industry.

Pool Fence Installation Hit Hard

China was hit hard by the covid-19 virus; just like the rest of the world. Forbes magazine reported in their March 26, 2020 issue that “China was hit hard with the coronavirus outbreak in December that has since spread across the world. Now officially declared a pandemic, combating the virus has affected vast chunks of the country’s economy. In newly reported figures, China’s industrial output plummeted 13.5% over the first two months of 2020—the most precipitous downfall on record—and exports dropped to 2008 global financial crisis levels, with China actually experiencing a trade deficit. Combined with vast declines in retail sales and fixed asset investment, this was China’s worst financial report since opening up to foreign investment in 1978”.

Near Recovery

So… Chinese exports has been hit hard by the flu virus and it has temporarily affected the swimming pool fence installation industry. It is hard for us to get the materials to not only sell you a fence, but to install it as well. However, we have all been confined indoors in our efforts to beat this flu. I couldn’t install you a pool fence right now even if I wanted to.

Things are changing, however. China has nearly beat the flu and their factories are producing, again… their exports are opening back up. My corporate office has told me that they are starting to receive materials from China. By the time Houston and Texas has beat this flu, my materials will be here.

I wanted to take this time to inform all of my customers of our market situation. Life Saver Of Houston has been a responsible small business and has tried to do its’ socially responsible part during this covid-19 period of time. I know that I’ve had competitors of mine that have been out there selling and installing pool fences… we all have to eat. I just hope that many of my good customers understand where we come from.
