Spring swimming season is almost here in Houston. Your children have been cooped up in your house all Winter and are anxious to get outside and in your pool. Don’t wait any longer. You have thought about installing a pool fence for the past few months; now is the time to do it. Before you do, though, let me convince you to do it in a special way. Most people when they are installing a pool fence will install a 3-sided fence. They want access to the pool without having to go through a fence gate. That’s probably not the best way. Four-sided swimming pool fences are normally much safer and will save many more lives.
Yes, a 4-sided fence will likely cost you more, but when you are talking “lives”, which is more important – saving a few dollars or possibly saving a child’s life. I know which of these two you would choose.
Changing Times
I sometimes think back to when I was a twelve-year-old child. We grew up in Miami and dad bought us a new-used-home in the suburbs on the south side of the city. The home had a swimming pool. Boy, we thought we were so lucky! The home had a pool with a 3-sided fence that was easily accessible from a glass door on the side of the house.
My older brother and I both knew how to swim. When I think about that, I really can’t criticize my dad too much… most people at that time had homes with 3-sided fences. My parents didn’t have a lot to worry about. Although, my brother and I had a small dog that I’m really not sure knew how to swim. Fortunately, our dog’s swimming skills were never tested. My parents did have a few friends over that had a few young children, but I now think that my parents were fortunate that it wasn’t too many.
Times have changed. I think families now have more friends over. Families seem to socialize more. In today’s world, I don’t think it would be uncommon to have a family over that had children younger than 12… and, some of these children probably don’t know how to swim.
Children are not predictable. They are full of energy. If children are wandering around your home, your swimming pool is almost certain to catch their attention. If they were to accidentally fall in and nobody was close by, the consequences are not pleasant to think about.
4-Sided Swimming Pool Fences Save Lives
Prevent accidents like this with a 4-sided swimming pool fencing system. Make it nearly impossible for anyone to access your pool without having to unlock and open a self-closing fence gate. These are the type of swimming pool fences that we sell and install at Life Saver Of Houston. We do sell and install 3-sided pool fences… sometimes the home and situation justifies this. This is something we can discuss. In any event, I’ll help you select the safest swimming pool fencing system for your home. Call me, Wayne, at (832) 367-2377 for a free estimate.
