A Mesh Pool Fence Is the Way to Go

Safe might pool fences are so important for home owners. Especially if you have small children or you have friends that visit with small children. Houston and its surrounding area has had an especially bad month with four child drownings. Let’s put a stop to this! Let me explain why I believe all home owners should install a mesh pool fence if they have a home pool.

A residential pool fence can be made from a lot of materials. Some home pool fences are made from wood, chain link, vinyl, and even glass. All of these are better than not having any fence, but a mesh pool fence is the best way to go.

It is my opinion, a pool fence made of is by far the safest type of pool fence. The mesh material is flexible, but very difficult for a child to climb over. Their small hands and feet slip on this type of material. The material is difficult to tear and is nearly indestructible. Constant exposure to the sun will not have any effect on the material. Meanwhile, a child can climb over a wood or chain link fence. And, a glass fence can shatter if a person runs into it.

A mesh pool fence also allows a homeowner to remove it. This type of fence is light and flexible. The fence can be taken down and/ or installed in only a few minutes. This cannot be done with a glass chain link, wrought iron, or wood fence. This type of pool fence allows you to extend the pool area if you are having a party.

Visibility of the pool area is so important. Once again, the mesh pool fence is the winner again. All pool fences discourage others from using the pool without permission, but there is no guarantee that someone couldn’t slip through and get into the pool. That’s why visibility is so important. A mesh pool fence gives the homeowner the best visibility of the pool. Fences built from other materials such as vinyl, wood, or wrought iron will hide portions of the pool. This is not what you want if a small, young child accidentally falls into the pool.

A glass pool fence does offer the same superior visibility options that a mesh pool fence has to offer. However, the glass pool fence is risky if someone runs into it. It is expensive to fix and the tiny bits of glass are dangerous and a nuisance. This is a turn-off to most homeowners.

Maintenance is a big reason that many homeowners choose a mesh pool fence. The sturdy mesh and aluminum side-bars require no maintenance. Glass pool fences require constant cleaning. Wood pool fences require a lot of painting. Vinyl pool fences fade in the sun.

Now, have I convinced you that a mesh pool fence is the way to go? I could have talked rice. But, when it comes to owning and building a pool fence, price should not be the main guiding factor. Saving lives, perhaps your own child, should be the major factor. A mesh pool fence wins that factor in my opinion.
